Art... the gift that keeps on giving!
65A W State St, Doylestown, PA
Gathering is a fine art cooperative gallery. It exists by and for the people. We are always looking for volunteers to help cover shifts or New Artists. It is an honor to provide a place where local artists can share and sell their beautiful artwork!
Gathering Welcomes New Artist Larry Barnes
I started painting in 1999. I have painted almost exclusively with oil on canvas, but have done some work in pencil as well as oil pastels. I painted mostly as a hobby for years.
I joined the Doylestown Art League in 2005. I had paintings accepted for their Juried Spring shows every year from 2007-2012. I won Honorable Mention in the show of 2012.
I was in the Peace Fair Show at Buckingham Friends School in Buckingham, PA in 2007.
I exhibited in the New Hope Art League Juried Fall show at the Stockton Mill in Stockton, NJ in 2011.
I have sold numerous paintings over the years to friends and acquaintances. I was accepted at and sold many paintings for many years at the Bucks County Antique Gallery in Chalfont, PA. Several paintings exhibited and sold at the Bucks County Fine Arts Gallery in Peddlers Village in Lahaska, PA under artist Christopher Willett. Both galleries have since closed.
I am looking for a new venue to display and sell my work.
Gathering Welcomes New Artists
Yonina Schuchman and Andrea Tucker
Yonina Schuchman is a Philadelphia native who lives in Horsham PA. She was a three year art major at Upper Dublin High School and had the opportunity to to take various art classes in her 20s when she was living in Israel. After returning to the US with a husband and baby, her priorities shifted and she was unable to devote time to serious art. Today she is an acrylic and watercolor artist, creating art after decades in the IT field. She retired from the corporate world in 2018 with a goal to return to the arts. Since then, she has studied with Debora King and Patricia Allingham Carlson, and has exhibited at the Pennridge Gallery of the Arts festival in Sellersville.
She loves bright colors, impressionism, nature, mysticism, and capturing happy experiences. Yonina feels that her life has been blessed with joy and love, and she hopes that her paintings convey those feelings.
LOSE YOURSELF IN THE BEAUTY OF ART
I am an experimental artist, having transitioned from watercolor to contemporary and abstract acrylic fluid art.
My designs start with paint that is custom mixed using various chemicals and paint conditioners, then layered according to density. In order to manipulate the paint, the canvas is stretched and tilted, then several techniques are used to create movement and design on the canvas. As the paint begins to dry, I add embellishments and the painting comes to life! After drying, I will add a satin or glossy UV varnish, framed and they are ready to hang!
The colors I use are bold and bright top of the line acrylics and will compliment any type of decor or room. The beauty of each painting is mesmerizing and everyone sees something different in the painting.
My love of art started in first grade and throughout my life, I have continued my art education through the Art Institute of Chicago, various private lessons and at the Michener Museum. My paintings are currently in Scrambled, which is a gallery in New Hope, the Doylestown Hospital Artwalk, various art fairs and the juried Doylestown Art Festival.
Let your imagination take hold and lose yourself in the beauty of art!
