Shelley Miller ‘s journey of working with wool started when her grandmother taught her to knit when she was 12 years old.  That love of working with her hands to produce beautiful projects along with learning more about wool and other fibers only expanded over the years.  When she retired from her work in women’s health, a whole new world opened!

Over the past many years Shelley has learned the joy of starting with raw fleece (from sheep or alpaca) and turning it into yarn.  Many of the projects you’ll find at Shelley’s display are made from wool that she has cleaned, dyed, “carded”, and spun into yarn that she then uses to create sweaters, hats, scarves, mittens and more.

In addition to knitting, since her retirement, she has also been enjoying her weaving loom and working on other projects.

For Shelley, this is not work, it is a passion and her therapy!

ALL sales of her project are donated to local non-profit organizations as her way of giving back.
